We have returned to mainly in-person events (all with limited numbers and you must book in advance) but we continue to offer some events on Zoom for those who feel more comfortable with this option.

Free events and activities

Our events and activities are free to anyone over the age of 18 living in the London Borough of Sutton.

Wellbeing activities

Our regular wellbeing activities currently include yoga and mindfulness, with new instructors.

Support groups

The Sutton Hearing Voices group and the Sutton OCD Support Group are both taking place in-person.

Information and advice

Each month we organise information and advice sessions on a variety of topics, hosted by ourselves or by relevant external professionals.

Creative writing course

With Sutton Writers

Writing can help both mental and physical wellbeing - it can clarify thoughts and feelings, improve mood and help you to manage stress.  This course offers the opportunity to bring your creativity out in a safe and supportive environment, you will explore different creative writing themes and activities to get closer to your unique writing voice.

Tuesdays 1pm to 2:45pm at Whitehall, Cheam until 5th July 2022.

IT 4 mental health course

5 session beginner level course

Learn all about: getting online; staying safe; downloading apps; setting up an email account and sending emails. All courses run by Danielle Gardner, SMHF in conjunction with Sutton College.

Wednesday 22nd June - 11am to 12:30pm
Wednesday 6th & 13th July - 11am to 2:30pm with a half hour break.

Signpost Sutton - Suicide Prevention Awareness

Tuesday 28th June 2pm at Belmont Connect.
Signpost Sutton is a programme of open forums, which explores a range of different themes and issues that impact on the lives and experience of Sutton residents who experience mental and emotional distress.

Please join us for this session where we willl be talking about the Suicide Prevention Project, which works in Sutton and across South West London, and discussing the help that is available.

Ana Djurdjevic – Suicide Prevention Coordinator (Children and Young People) &
Helen Baly – Team lead for Suicide Prevention and Postvention Support Services.

Managing Pain

A 6 week course to help you manage and cope with a painful condition

  • A friendly and interactive course with a mixture of education and group discussion.
  • Understand more about your situation and the issues that affect pain.
  • Learn about how to find new ways to manage and cope with your pain.

Mondays 10am to 11:30am on zoom, 4th April to 16th May. Please note - there will be no session on 18th April (Easter Monday).

New members open day

A chance for people who haven't used the service before to have a look round, meet the staff and generally find out what we can offer. Now including a Mindfulness taster session with Dennis.

Friday 1st July 10.30am to 2pm at Belmont Connect.

We continue to offer a selection of FREE weekly wellbeing activities including Mindfulness and Yoga. We also have our regular support groups - Sutton Hearing Voices group and Sutton OCD support group.

Mindfulness

Selfcare is so important - take some relaxation time just for you.

We have 2 Mindfulness sessions per week.

  • Tuesdays 1pm to 2pm (Members only) at Belmont Connect
  • Thursdays 3pm to 4pm at Belmont Connect

Yoga

Suitable for all abilities. Mats provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water if possible.

Weekly on Tuesdays 10am to 11am.

Drop in

Unlimited hot drinks £1.00. No lunch is available at present.

Weekly on Tuesdays 12:30pm to 3:30pm and Fridays 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

Let's talk football

Join Ovie on Zoom to talk about the latest Euro 2020 matches, your favourite club or anything football related.

Weekly on Tuesdays 5pm to 6pm.

Line dancing

Join Janice from HotShots Line Dance Club for some toe tapping fun.

Weekly on Thursdays 10am to 11am.

Relax, chat and enjoy!

Choose from a selection of freshly made, feel-good smoothies. £1.50 each.

Weekly on Thursdays 11:15am to 12:15pm.

Drop in / Scrabble club

Come and enjoy a game of scrabble in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Weekly on Thursdays 11:15am to 1:15pm. Scrabble games start from 12pm.
